About Our Family Treasures

Welcome to my genealogy website, Our Family Treasures. My database has over 10,000 individuals, which are not all listed on this website. I am updating all lines and will put the branch that I’m presently working on in the marquee above. As I update my direct ancestors' their surnames will appear in capital letters. For more details see "What's New" in the Stories Section above and the Recent Name List in the sidebar.
I am also experimenting with having my tree over on Ancestry.com. I don't have a subscription to Ancestry so it is limited. It also has the same name "Our Family Treasure" Owner: genealogy411, with only a few individuals entered so far.
Family Members need to click on the link "Request Invitation" located above to acquire access to the private information on this site if you have not already done so.
However, if you are researching any surnames listed here and require more details please use the search field above in the black bar or contact me and give me the names that you are interested in with approximate time frame and I'd be happy to check.

Genealogy Sayings...
Genealogy without sources is nothing more that just mythology.
A family tree can wither if no one tends to its roots.
Only a geneologist regards a step backwards as progress.
Genealogy: A hay stack full of needles. It's the threads I need.
I only work on Genealogy on days that end in "Y".
Shh!! be very, very quite. I'm hunting forebears.
Gene-Allergy: It's a contagious disease, but I love it.
Genealogy begins as an interest, becomes a hobby, continues as an avocation, takes over as an obsession and in its last stage is an incurable disease.
Genealogy is like playing hide and seek. They hide...I seek.
Do you know where your Great Great Grandparents are?

A Genealogists Prayer By Curtis Woods Lord, help me dig into the past And shift the sands of time That I might find the roots that made This family tree of mine Lord, help me trace the ancient roads On which my fathers trod And led them through so many lands To find our present sod. Lord, help me find an ancient book Or dusty manuscript That's safely hidden now away In some forgotten crypt; Lord, let it bridge the gape that haunts My soul when I can't find The missing link between some name That ends the same as mine.
